I got to spend a few hours with my sister and her kids today. We had a nice time talking and laughing, and watching all the kids play is so nice. They really had fun.

Wow, been I have been super tired. I went to bed at 8:40 pm last night, and then took a nap today too? Maybe I'm fighting something? I don't know. I did get tattoo work done yesterday, that tends to wear me out. I spend 3+ hours all tense and trying to get through it, I think it takes a toll. I'm STILL not done. For real I have one more session this time...I know I have said that before... I wanted to wait till it was done now to post a photo of it..I'm at least going to wait until it isn't huge and swollen. My arm looks like a sausage today. Ewwe.


This was taken while Sb tried to nap with two kids in the couch. August was "shooting webs" like spider-man left and right. Veda looking through books. He got about 6 minutes of sleep.

I know I have mentioned how huge my cat is. Today she was following me around the house in the most annoying way. I was trying to figure out what to shoot for the photo of the day. I sat down at the table deciding to read instead when there she is sitting at the table next to me.

My son had a hard day today. Hard for him, and hard for everyone around him. He was grumpy and wild and hard to manage. He did dole out a few hugs, but overall had some pretty noisy melt downs. 3 year old boys!! So I was at the store today and noticed there was a Spider-Man pajama on sale. If you know anything about August, it is that he is in LOVE with Spidey! So I got it and gave it to him at bedtime. He said "I'm going to wear this every day" Oh and he will.

Happy New President Day!

What a historic day! Since our TV is out we turned on NPR and listened to the inauguration of Barack Obama. IT was very cool. I loved his speech! Moving as always!

Today's photo of the day may look like a normal photo, which it is...
I took this today of my nephew, if you look close in the larger view( click on the pic), you will see me taking his picture in the reflection of his eyes. I promise I did not Photoshop me in there. I have seen this type of picture before but have yet to get a good reflection till now.

Here comes the sun!

Ahh It was a beautiful crisp SUNNY day today. I just love that. Reminds me that spring will be here at some point. I even spotted tiny crocus leaves are just starting to pop up! They come up to remind me that Spring is going to be around the corner..a few cold corners, but still! There is hope :)

The photo for today was a shot I took of Rosa. There was bright light coming in the window that took color off a lot of her face. I decided to play around with it. I usually don't go to quite such extremes with photos, but it is fun to experiment every now and then. I love the way it looks like she has these dark eyes.

Just a quick shout out!

Me and the kids watched ELF tonight. Man that movie makes me laugh. Anything with Will Farrel pretty much cracks me up though. Rosa giggled quite a bit. Veda got half the jokes and August just liked seeing Santa.
Today Rosa asks me if she can have a email account. I tell her not yet. She isn't quite old enough. I explain to her about SPAM, and how a lot of times it is inappropriate for kids. It could also mean viruses that can harm our computer. Later at bedtime, she calls for me. Back up to her room I go. She tell me she is totally freaked out about SPAM and all she can think of is scary emails and she can't sleep. She obviously took my word "inappropriate" in a whole other way. She is now nestled in my bed safe from all unwanted emails!


Today's photo(s) of the day is a teeny bit sad. Only cause there are tears involved. They are crocodile tears though I promise. I told Auggie he had to go to bed. He was NOT happy about that. He wanted to watch Spider-man one more time.. I said no, the tears followed. At least he still blew me a kiss when asked!

Day 14

Joann fabric

I just love that store. It gets me in such a creative mood when I walk in. Crafts, fabric, you name it.
I have been making jammie pants for the kids. They have turned out cute so far. I will have to post a shot of them.
I think pants in general are what I make the most. It is SO easy. I even saw a pair on the wall at Joann's with a note that said " New! Kids Can Sew Class. Make easy lounge pants!" ha ha ha So really I'm no pro at sewing if the one thing I sew the most is something they teach a 9 year old lol. Oh well!

Monday

This is a shot of Rosa on the phone. She is talking to a friend, alone in the living room. Chatting like a teenager or something! I wanted to keep the lighting how it was. It was a dark room lit by just a lamp, and I couldn't see her very clearly..

Day 12

48 degrees

Which means I was able to run today! It was fantastic. I am reminded that I need new running shoes though. I only went 3.5 miles, but it felt good. So much better than the treadmill.

Last night August surprised me by telling me while I was putting him to bed that "Earth is a planet mommy" Ahh what a proud mom I was. Then him and Veda proceeded to ask me a bunch of space and planet questions that I didn't know! The sad thing, was I swear I knew at one point! I just have not used that info in so long and it dripped from my brain and out my ears somewhere. I swear it is from watching too much Sponge Bob with the kids. ha ha

Long day

I think I spent most of my day in the car. I hate it when I have days like that. Where I'm super tired from running here and there, when really most of my day was spent sitting..in the car.
Sb helped me finish my painting job I started. I'm excited about it. It was a kitchen project that I will post pictures of soon!
Also, ( exciting ha ha) we got a new vacuum. Now we have had our old one for about 7 years. It has come to the point we have to unclog it every other time we use it. Plus it is losing suction, and we have had to fix the wiring twice.
We got a Dyson d17 animal. Don't worry we NEVER pay full price :) Thank you Craigslist! Anyway I LOVE it. The animal attachment get hair out of the stairs SO WELL. The only complaint is using the detachable handle will take some time getting used to. It is a bit big. Anyway I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars for sure!


This photo is a picture of a lily that has not yet opened. I'm sure it will in about two days. I took a shot of the inside by getting super close up with my new lens and using a flash to see what was inside.

Thanks for all who voiced stuff on my dog talk.. I'm going to bring him in again to a vet and see what they say as well.

Old dog

My dog is getting very old. He is 13 this year..wait 12 or 13. lol Anyway his hearing is getting very bad. He will howl at the door almost up until we walk up to him thinking we are gone. He also has started not being able hold his pee... And since he is a 3 legged dog ( accident while a tiny pup) his back leg that is left has bad arthritis. O.K back to the peeing.
Tonight he pees on the floor in the kitchen..I'm so thankful that it is on the hard wood and not the carpet. ( thanks goddess we own a steam cleaner!) I tell the kids to wait in the TV room while I clean it up. Not listening, my 3 year old goes running though the kitchen, I yell for him to stop, and he does right in the puddle. His whole body slips and falls banging his head and most of his upper body in the pee puddle. Poor boy got hurt and was also covered in dog piss. Did I mention he JUST got out of the bath? I carried him up stairs and put him in the shower to clean off the pee. All he said while crying was "I just wanted to get my night night" Ahh little guy.

On the dog subject, I just don't know what to do? I know he needs to see a vet again..but I don't want to prolong his life by just doping him up on drugs so he sleeps all day and I carry him outside to pee ( if I'm lucky). I also DON'T feel comfortable saying when he needs to expire, but I also don't want him to have a crappy quality of life?

It has been raining like crazy all day. I'm SO o.k with it. Anything is better than snow at this point!

This picture I took is a little different. It is actually a photo of a drawing/ painting Rosa made for me almost a year ago. It is one of my favorites. Not really working on my photo skills with this one, but I just love the picture so I thought I would share.

Day 7

Wake up

I am having the hardest time back on this school day schedule. I have been sleeping in, and so have the kids. This morning we got up with 25 minutes to spare. Not much time there!
I took the kids to school, and them went with my sister and dad to visit my grandma. I have not seen her in a while, which is completely my fault. It was so nice to see her and talk a bit. It was also nice to be with my dad. Weird because it has not been just me, my sister, and my dad since we were young. We joked how I would always fall asleep in the car no matter how far we were going when I was a kid. Apparently they would sometimes put things in my nose and stuff to see if I would wake up...NIIIICE lol

I HATE self portraits. I usually hate any photo taken of me. I'm not very photogenic, I have weird features I think. ANYWAY I promised my self I would try to get some in on this photo a day thing. It will be easier when I get a remote that works with my camera.

Day 6

First day back

Kids went back to school today. It was nice having a few hours to do things. I started a painting project, worked out and vacuumed the house. I'm so over winter. I can't wait for spring. I would be happy if winter was like 6 weeks long! That is all I can handle of this really cold stuff.

MUST GO TO THE GYM

My pants feel tight...I have eaten and drank way too much this Holiday season. It is so easy to fall off the workout wagon. Mostly when it is so cold I can't just go outside and run..well actually I WONT go outside and run. It has to be at least 45 degrees( used to be 40 lol) for that. I'm a wimp! Off to the gym I go.. I have got my MP3 player all juiced up.

Hungry

How is it that when I eat late at night in the AM I wake up with a grumbling hungry stomach? When I don't snack at night I wake up not that hungry. I don't get it?

Big bummer, we may have lost the beloved "night night" ( blanket pictured above) I think it fell out of the car today on our adventures.... He LOVES that thing and we have almost lost it several times, even practically caught on fire once but alas he still wanted THAT one. My sad sad boy.

EVEN LATER..
The blankie has been FOUND! It was in the parking lot of the place we ate dinner. Ran over a few times but with a good washing it will be good as...used lol :)
He will be so happy in the AM.

Paper

What is it about paper that ends up turning my house in to a paper land fill. I think I must recycle tons of paper a year. The way my girls are constantly drawing stuff*, plus bills and all other things paper.
At this moment I have 2.5 stacks of paper on the computer desk, 3 on the kitchen counter, and about 3 at the art area. This is not even touching what Rosa has in her room. The girl keeps anything she can shove in her room. She will print out 40 coloring pages a day if we let her. Only half get colored, the rest land themselves in one of the many paper piles around the house.

* I can not realistically keep ALL their art work. My home would be a crazy paper fire hazard if I did.

Well I'm going to try at least. I figure on days when I cant be at my computer, I will take the photos and post when I can. I'm hoping it will try me to get new and different photos.
I know another pal of mine is doing this too, thanks Hope for the idea.
