party!

We had three birthdays to go to this weekend. Unfortunately we were only able to attend two. One was my Aunts 60th, the other was a preschool friend of Veda and August's. We went to this really great park with huge open spaces and a creek. It was actually pretty nice out too.

On the bad side. I have this awful feeling like I'm about to catch a cold. You know that weird feeling when you swallow and a mild head ache. I also am feeling really tired and skipped my run today ( oh darn ha ha)
Anyway I have a shoot tomorrow, that should be fun. I hope the weather is nice so we can be outside. My most fav place to take photos. Gotta love the natural light!

funny kids..

How funny is that picture. It is from at least a year ago, but still makes me laugh. Then there is this other one...
Rosa dressed Auggie up one of Auggie's first ( of many) girl attire dress up days. He came down the stairs like this ha ha. Funny part is it is a sparkly headband on his chest
Today, after getting after the shower, my hair was wet and not pulled back and August goes "I don't like your hair like that mama" I said I know, because he always says he likes my hair in a pony tail best ( who knows why?) So then he goes "It hurts my feelings mama, when your hair is like that " What? So of course Rosa and I start laughing quietly. Then later when I was changing his diaper he tells me his diaper is too tight and it hurts his feelings. ha ha He is so funny and so doesn't get it. How do I explain this to a 2.5 year old? The thing is he is slightly serious so it makes it hard not to giggle, plus I don't want to ...hurt his feelings by doing it :)

snow?

Yes we had a record breaking late snow this weekend. I'm so over it. I ready for warm weather!! In one day we had hair, snow, slush..you name it. Luckily by Sunday we had more mellow weather. YIPPY!

On the running front, it has been bad. When I got back from our water park trip I ran across the street to get the mail. I felt a snapping sensation in my knee. It hurt for a couple hours then felt o.k. The day after I went to run across a grass field the day after and my knee felt really weak. So I took a week off. I did go to the gym but took it easy and did no weight baring stuff on my knee. So I'm behind and I don't know if I can get back to where I should be..since I have been a bit behind anyway.. We will see. I have a run scheduled Tuesday and I will go from there.

Does anyone watch Saturday Night Live anymore? I have been Taping the episodes now. They are REALLY funny. Amy Poehler is hilarious! Her and Tina Fey are also in a new move together called Baby Mama. It look so funny.

Great Wolf Lodge

That is where we went. We had a lot of fun. The Great Wolf Lodge is a huge indoor water park. There is a kid's story time in the HUGE lobby at 8 pm every night. They have a pretty neat arcade and 4 places to either eat or snack. They also have a teen area which we never saw. It has a wave pool and 5 plus water slides. Plus other water areas. It has a area for pretty much every age child. Unless of course your afraid of everything that concerns water like my Rosa. Ugg you would think that giving her swimming lessons would lesson the strange fear of water..but no..cause first you have to GET in the pool. She LOVES the beach. Will jump waves and wade all day long. It is mostly pools. I thought since this place has kid areas that are about mid calf deep she would be happy. Lets just say the buffet made her smile more ha ha.
The drive was only around a hour an a half from our place. A nice get away on a cold rainy day.

So trying to take a picture of Rosa's beautiful eye lashes tonight..I say "Rosa keep your eyes closed so I can get a pictures of your lashes" This is what she does...

Meet "Man"

SO this is August in his new obsession, a adult size ball cap that Sebastian owns and doesnt really wear. Like I posted before he wants to be called "man"

HEAT WAVE! O.k well sort of. It is April in Seattle and 74 today! I kid you not my kids and their friends are outside on the trampoline in bathing suits! They have the sprinkler going under it to add to the fun. I LOVE this weather. It makes me want to be outside soaking up the sun.

We (actually that would be Sebastian) managed to take out the old "Bee" tree outside..now we are wondering if we should build a playhouse for the kids or plant another tree or garden. It really opens up the place to have it gone, and adds a lot of light. While I'm not huge on taking out trees, the bees LOVED this tree. In the early summer there were hundreds. I could hear the buzzing from the kitchen window. We had thought there was a nest but no, they were there for the flowers. This causes a problem since I'm VERY allergic to bees. I have a Epi pen and everything. I have only been stung once to my knowledge when I was 3. I can still remember my mom grabbing me and putting me in the front seat of the car. She drove as my eyes swelled shut. I can remember being confused as to why I could hear but not see. She said I had hives all over too. They gave me two shots in the hospital. I still cant believe I have not been stung again..yet.

Exciting day!

Well for my girls anyway. They got to finally change their earrings. They got them pierced about 3 months ago, and now they can put different earrings in. They were excited so I bought them a couple of pairs of earrings.

Well I'm still running.. I did 5 miles yesterday. It was hard. I mapped it out on "map my run" which was nice. The bad part was I put a big hill in the beginning..not so fun. I am beginning to think I wont be able to run the whole half marathon. Who knows... I don't really want to quit, but I also find it hard to believe I will enjoy running for 2.5 hours.

In other exercise news. I'm teaching a yoga for kids class at Rosa's school. I thought it would be fun. I have never taught yoga before. I have only taken the classes from other people. These are going to be k-2 graders so I don't think it will be very hard. I have checked out a few books from the library to aid in my instruction. Rosa is super excited and wants to be my helper! ha ha.

Spring day..

It's spring, its Seattle, therefore its raining.. Yesterday was so nice. I took the kids to a park to play with their little friend. My friend(mother of their friend) and I thought how ironic it was how the kids had the most fun running down the hills, collecting rocks on the hike, and splashing in the water fountain when there was two huge climbing play toys at the park as well. They did play on them, but I swear I saw the biggest smiles when they found wishing rocks and were speeding fast down the grassy hill.
I had big plans for today. I was going to start digging up my shade garden. I already ordered 30 plants for the area. I'm not sure when they will arrive, but I want the are to be ready for planting soon.

August has been sleeping in lately. We all get up and he is still snuggley in the bed ( usually my bed) I'm thinking he is growing. While I love to watch him grow, I really love his silly talk cuddly phase he is in. Yeah he is mischievous and naughty at times, but I just love my little 2.5 year old. I have said it before, sometimes I wish I could just freeze time. That or go back and visit the kids at each age again. It goes so fast.

miss you girls

I spent most the day with August. It was nice to have one on one time with him. He is such a sweet boy...Usually
I do miss my girls. They are visiting my mom and will return tomorrow. It's SO quiet in the house with one child.
Tonight at bedtime. I was reading to August from a book called "Where is my friend?" . He really likes it. So I ask him what animal is on each page. He will ALWAYS get the Zebra right. He can guess most of the animals, the more we read the book. The funny part is, if it is a animal that he has forgotten its name. I will say "what animal is this" and he goes "It's NOT a Zebra" that way he is always right! ha ha Takes after his mom..or maybe his dad..depends on who you ask I guess~!
